Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban Celebrates 34th Handover and Induction Ceremonies

On a vibrant evening of July 12, 2024, The Mallberry Suites Hotel, Limketkai Drive, Cagayan de Oro City, was adorned with an aura of celebration and camaraderie as the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban (RCEU) hosted its 34th Handover and Induction Ceremonies. This prestigious event marked the transition of leadership from President Bing Dacudao of Rotary Year (RY) 2023-2024 to President Christina Jugador of RY 2024-2025.

As the night unfolded, President Bing Dacudao delivered a heartfelt valedictory speech, expressing her deep gratitude for the unwavering support she received from the officers and members throughout her term. She presented a captivating video showcasing the numerous projects and accomplishments achieved under her leadership, highlighting the collective efforts that earned the club the title of the most outstanding club in the district.

The ceremony moved forward with President Christina Jugador’s acceptance speech, where she shared her vision for the upcoming year and inspired members to continue their dedication to service and excellence. Her enthusiasm and commitment to the club’s mission resonated with all attendees, setting a positive tone for RY 2024-2025.

Awards and recognitions were a significant part of the evening, with President Bing Dacudao honoring the members and officers who had actively supported the Rotary year through their generous contributions of funds, time, abilities, and expertise. Special recognition was given to PP Bebie for her consistent and generous donations, ensuring her presence was felt in all club projects. Major donors like CP Ybeth Yu, PP Bebie Go, PP Lily Lim, and Rtn. Ann Aquino were also acknowledged for their invaluable support. Additionally, Gov. Gigi Go was specially recognized for giving points to the members, which enabled the club to become a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Member club.

One poignant moment was the recognition of Ms. Pat Bales, an annual donor for seven consecutive years, who was present to receive her well-deserved accolades. The club also celebrated becoming an all Paul Harris Fellow Member club, a testament to the members’ commitment to Rotary’s ideals.

Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including District Governor Hubert B. Quiblat and his Chief of Staff and daughter, Kat, along with PDG Bing Juarez, PDG John Mark and Lady Ching, PDG Manny and Lady Biema, AG Caroline Neri, and Leaders from our Mother Club RC East – IPP Jean Ong and President Ann Afable. Their presence added a layer of prestige and support to the event, emphasizing the strong network and community within Rotary.

The evening was meticulously organized, thanks to the efforts of various contributors. Rtn. Ann Aquino from Agile Marketing facilitated the preparation and distribution of awards and curated the LED presentation content. Ikebana International Cagayan de Oro Chapter adorned the tables with exquisite flower arrangements, adding a touch of elegance to the venue. Syntactics, Inc. provided certificates, technical support, and video editing services, ensuring a seamless experience. Special thanks to Ms. Malou Mercado for her invaluable assistance throughout the year and in preparing for the awards. Additionally, Rtn. Emilyn Go’s coffee bar was a delightful addition, offering refreshments to the attendees.

After the formal program, dancing ensued and the members and guests enjoyed the music and dancing, creating an atmosphere of joy and festivity. The dance floor was alive with energy as everyone celebrated the achievements of the past year and looked forward to the promises of the new one.

The night concluded on a high note with raffle draws, ensuring that everyone went home with a prize. The event was a perfect blend of recognition, gratitude, and forward-looking optimism, embodying the spirit of Rotary. Families and friends of both outgoing and incoming presidents were present to cheer and support, making the celebration truly memorable.
